I have been lucky enough to work with so many brilliant authors over the years. I’ve edited books with Ann Beattie and Andre Dubus III; the poetry of Joan Baez; four novels by Simon Van Booy; the debut novel by Meredith Hall. And much more.  

I can bring everything I’ve learned to bear on your manuscript-in-process.

I can help writers of essays and short stories or full-length memoirs and novels. I can help with all aspects of a manuscript, including:

• broad overview readings to offer advice on things like tone, structure, and mechanics

• close line-editing

• strategizing for submission to agents and editors

• consulting for self-publishers

My favorite projects involve:

• A close reading of a complete draft manuscript

• Making Track Change edits and Comments on the entire manuscript

• Writing a detailed editorial letter with additional observations and guidance

• Following up with a 1 or 2 hour Zoom conversation

What I don’t do:

• Copyedit

• Proofread

*But I can refer you to excellent copy editors and proofreaders.
